LMG says: Welcome to my BLOG “Food and Travel with LMG”.
Hi! I'm Lani M. Garcia, a 27year old Food lover from Cebu City Philippines. I have always loved food way back when I was 5 years old watching culinary shows at Discovery Channel. I took College of Dentistry a couple of years ago and yes I’m currently scared of dentists STILL. Who’s not right? :D
Five years later I graduated Culinary and Pastry School and started right away a fun new cake business disguised under the name “LMG Pastry Chef”. I love my job!!!!
Join me as I dine, sip coffee, savor the best chocolates and pastries and critic some of the world’s greatest and comforting restaurants, coffee and pastry shops. Whether it be a simple diner serving my favorite comfort food or extravagant restaurants serving Iron Chef Material, I’m there or will be there pretty soon. It’s my dream to dine in Michelin starred restaurants after all. With my “bestest” friends and family, together lets go around town and enjoy. As Wolfgang Puck puts it, “Live! Love! and Eat!”. Who knows where we could go next. Suggest your favorite city we could visit soon, invite us to your beautiful towns & together let us celebrate ……..GREAT FOOD!

December 31,  2010,  LMG recallsI started scanning thru my photos last summer and passed by my Houston and Chicago trip album. Oh boy the food we enjoyed and experienced during that trip was just so good!!!!!…… so good that I have to blog about it so you can hungrily journey back with me to a trip I miss so badly. Let me start reminiscing on what I enjoyed the most… CHEESECAKE and PIZZA! Things that make me thankful I’m not a supermodel who couldn’t enjoy evil things like a slice of sinful Cheesecake and a triangle of Cheesy Fat Pizza. Happy New Year Everyone! Good Eats!

Welcome to The Cheesecake Factory! Now I know where Cebu's Dessert Factory was inspired from.
The Galleria Mall at Houston Texas was a huge mall filled with all the shops and departments only a girl could ask for...... Macys, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and so on! Hold on! I'm here to blog about a shop a cheesecake lover shouldn't miss in his or her lifetime. As I stepped into the colorful, warm, hip shop, a long line of Cheesecakes were temptingly arranged in it's chiller. Nutty, Chocolatey, Fruity, Classics, and new inventions of flavors you could only imagine when you get really hungry were all sitting right in front of me! So here goes!
Dulce De Leche Caramel Cheesecake
(Right side of photo)
$25.95 / P1,132.33 per 7 inch round cake
or
$46.95 / P2,048.66 per 10 inch round cake

Wikipedia: Dulce de leche is the most common name for milk caramel in Latin America. Made as both a thick jam and a caramel candy, it is prepared by slowly heating sweetened milk to create a product that derives its taste from caramelised sugar.
MMMMM! Yummy! As Pinoys, we are very well informed of what Dulce De Leche is. We might have heard of it as a bread, a cake or even a candy. Dulce De Leche + Cheesecake = a sweet tooth's heaven!
I was so excited to bring home the cheesecake slices and taste it one by one. I was too full to enjoy a round of dessert. The Cheesecake Factory also offers American sized servings of good old American-Mexican inspired classy diner food. I had my Fish and Chips and Crispy Taquitos. Crispy Taquitos are spiced chicken and cheese rolled in fresh corn tortillas and fried crisp. Served with Guacamole, Sour Cream and Salsa.

Wikipedia: Guacamole is an avocado-based dip which originated in Mexico.[1] It is traditionally made by mashing ripe avocados with a molcajete (pestle and mortar) with salt. Some recipes call for limited tomatoonion, garlic, lime juice or lemon juice, and/or seasonings.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake
$25.95 / P1,132.33 per 7 inch round cake
or
$46.95 / P2,048.66 per 10 inch round cake
The tart raspberry with the rich white chocolate cheesecake was a perfect balance.
Vanilla Bean Cheesecake
$25.95 / P1,132.33 per 7 inch round cake
or
$46.95 / P2,048.66 per 10 inch round cake
This was my favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The creamiest, vanilla-est cheesecake I have ever had. This was the moussy kind though, not the baked texture I was looking for but it was just perfect with the 2 huge rosettes of Whipped Cream. The cookie crust on the bottom gave it its texture. Yum!
Tiramisu Cheesecake
$25.95 / P1,132.33 per 7 inch round cake
or
$46.95 / P2,048.66 per 10 inch round cake
Tiramisu within a Cheesecake. Italy meets America!

Wikipedia: Tiramisu (ItaliantiramisùVenetiantiramesù [tirameˈsu]; literally "pull me up") is one of the most popular Italian cakes. It is made of biscuits (usually savoiardi) dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks and mascarpone, and flavored with liquor and cocoa.[1] The recipe has been adapted into many varieties of puddings, cakes and other desserts.

After shopping around The Galleria we went home and had pizza delivered.... Domino's for me has the perfect thick crust, perfect amount of rich tomato sauce and oozing Mozzarella Cheese with some of it burnt on the crust. Pepperoni and Italian Sausage screamed perfect Pizza ever!
This was a photo of me taken outside The Cheesecake Factory at Chicago. They have a lot of branches around the U.S. Next time you go on a US trip make sure to drop by. All in all I had a very memorable good eats here not to mention their staff were just great. Big Tip for you!

A BIG THANK YOU to Uncle Buddy, Aunt Tina, Lyn & Alex, and Ralph too. You made our trip complete! :)
